These PRESSURE COMPENSATING AERATORS have different flow rates for different uses. Your faucet is flowing at 2.0 or 2.2 gpm (gallons per minute). For bathroom faucets we recommend .5 gpm or 1.0 gpm flow rate. For kitchens and break rooms you may want a larger flow and we recommend 1.5 gpm flow rate. 70% of the water used in faucets is hot water also saving energy.

CARE+GUARD® is for hospitals, nursing homes or the food industry. No aeration is used in the laminar flow of 1.5gpm and the insert has Agion® Antimicrobial coating applied to stop bacterial growth in its tracks.

Conventional Aerators

Lime builds up fast on faucet wire mesh screens and blocks off the water and air passage. The stream loses aeration and starts splashing and the flow rate decreases.

Aerated Stream

Faucet aerators introduce air into the water stream to produce a larger white stream soft to the touch and non-splashing.
Aerators are the usual choice for residential faucet applications. Both in the bathroom and kitchen.

Laminar Stream

Laminar stream stengtheners produce a non-aerated water stream. Ideal for high-flow applications or health care facilities (no mix water/air).
NEOPERL® laminar spout-end devices deliver a crystal clear and non-splashing stream.

Spray

When the flow rate is too low to produce an aerated or laminar stream, a spray device is used to produce a miniature shower pattern to provide full coverage of the hands during washing. Sprays are recommended for use in public lavatories.
